CAN-DO's Fighting Chance MMA Gym offers free and low-cost training and mentorship for at-risk youth, former foster youth, and people in recovery. The new Long Beach location is CAN-DO’s third community gym launched since 2019. The Fighting Chance courses are led by former LA foster youth turned pro MMA fighter, Chase Gibson. The CAN-DO x Fighting Chance gyms build discipline, life skills, and a strong, supportive community for hundreds of students each month.

We are super proud of our CAN-DO x FIGHTING CHANCE community gym project. The continued growth & success of this program is only possible thanks to our donors, mentors, coaches and the support from the community. Because there is such a large need for community based programs like this, our Fighting Chance program continues to grow faster than we anticipated…which is a good thing! CAN-DO has facilitated seven large-scale rescue and transports of animals that are too often forgotten after a disaster strikes. We work with no-kill shelters to facilitate rescue/transport of animals from crisis situations and temporary shelters.
