CALIFORNIA MUDSLIDES

Here's a look at CAN-DO's mudslide relief efforts in Montecito/Santa Barbara. There's not a lot of mudslide news coverage outside of California so most donors would be surprised to see the gravity of the situation for so many families right now.

With the money raised, CAN-DO was able to provide clean-up supplies to Santa Barbara Bucket Brigade teams (steel shovels, pick axes, wheel barrels ,rakes, construction bags, 5-gallon buckets) -- 400 meals to the field volunteers (food purchased from local businesses who have also been struggling since the mudslide) -- Direct grants financial assistance to local families -including baby nursery expenses for an expecting family who lost their home and belongings in the mudslide, rent for another family in extreme need, as well as "re-startup" capital for a few small local businesses.

We want to give a huge shout out and thank you to Santa Barbara-based companies Christie & Co and FluidStance who threw a fundraiser and donated all the funds to CAN-DO.ORG and worked with us to make the biggest impact on the ground in Montecito.  As always, 100% of the donation money went directly to this project! 100% Accountability, ZERO Red Tape
