It’s a good day when CAN-DO gets a donation check for $20,000 to help the residents in Rose City, Texas. Thank you to Waste Management for the generous donation. This will be added to our total for CAN-DO.ORG’s Rose City donation challenge. 100% of the money we bring in will go directly into the hands of residents to purchase building and household supplies. It still blows us away to know that all but two homes in this town were completely underwater and 90% of residents have been denied any financial assistance from FEMA and crooks like the American Red Cross to help rebuild.
They’re starting over from scratch and need our help! Our donation campaign for Rose City will continue through Thanksgiving! Please help us make a difference for these families — no amount is too little and it's tax-deductible.
We can't stress enough how desperate the situation is getting for people all throughout SE Texas. For some perspective: there was an article put out by CNN just today on how Puerto Rico is still dealing with power outages, yet they refuse to cover the shameful situation occurring right now in Texas -- nearly 3 months after Harvey hit -- so many families have been completely neglected and have not, and will not at this point, receive the financial aid needed to rebuild after losing their homes and all their possessions.
